Anthony's Steakhouse on route 50 in Lake Geneva, is a definite old-school vibe steakhouse. The owner s have done a great job on retaining the old-school vibe reminiscent of the great steakhouses from the 50s and 60s. I almost thought I was going to be able to see Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin sitting at one of the Corinthian leather booths. All that matters is the food is excellent! We had the queen prime rib, salads, baked potato, and the cream of chicken soup. We also appreciate that they have a giant bar that probably could seat 35 or forty people. The drinks we ordered which included gin and tonic, Tito's and soda and some wine we're great.
This is a really good restaurant! Food is delicious and tasty. Prices are a little bit more on the expensive side, but it is absolutely worthy it. We were a party of 3 so, we decided to call and make a reservation. We were told it was not necessary. I think a reservation would have been better as the place was very busy. Still, it worked well for us. At Anthony’s, we were received by the owner who actively works there. We were sent to the bar while we waited for a table to be set up for us and also because the kitchen was backed up a bit. In the meantime, we had a drink each and in about 15-20 minutes we were sent to our table. We took our drinks with us to the table. We ordered and in about 5 minutes we were given a tray they call “relish tray”. Then, when the food came, we were also given freshly baked bread. It was awesome! Two of us ordered barbecued ribs and I ordered greek style salmon which is salmon seasoned with garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Each plate came with a side dish of your choice form a selection the restaurant offers, and a salad or soup of the day. It was potato cream soup today. All the food was incredible and super tasty! It was a lot of food, too. 2 of us had some leftovers. Then, as the food took a bit to come to the table, we were all offered a desert to go as a compensation. Only I decided to go for it and asked for a lemon mascarpone. It was brought in a to-go container. I haven’t had it yet as I’m still full from dinner, but there is a picture of it in my review. In total, we paid $130, tip included. It is important to emphasize that the service was impeccable and good despite the somewhat backed-up kitchen. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, kind, helpful! I would definitely come back!
ATMOSPHERE: The retro music and decor definitely gave those "fine restaurant ambiance" vibes, which was my absolute favorite thing. Every table was set and ready the moment we walked in.
FOOD: Unfortunately, i can't say the same for the food. My friend and i ordered some shrimp and steak and i can't say it was anything special for the price. We thought it was rather basic... though some sides and desserts were quite delicious in my opinion~
SERVICE: As for the waiting time for the food, it wasn't long~ the service was always keen to refills and more food while waiting~ they were very kind and showed mannerisms~
It’s a throwback to the old supper clubs. Dark and moody with fantastic food and wonderful service. I ordered the queen’s cut prime rib and it was enough for 3 people!! The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious too!
A relish tray with cheese spread and warm sliced bread complimented the cream of asparagus soup and salad.
What a great night!
I had high hopes for a great super club experience. The bartender was great while we waited for our other guests to arrive. There waa a relish tray at the table. The napkins were not linnen they were like thick paper towels. Several of us opted for streaks. I ordered the ribeye with a salad with blue cheese dressing and a baked potato. It was 43.00.
The steak was tough and fatty. The baked potato came with a packet of sour cream. The mushroom and onion side was all onions very few mushrooms.
I expected more. The service was great. We had a seasoned server. The food was not as good.
Retro vibe style steakhouse from the 70s had the best Filet Mignon Queen size with garlic mashed potato’s. Best steak ever.
1st there with the wife food was great. Cozy steak house. A must go if your in Lake Geneva.
This place is a time capsule. This place has seen the past 5 decades come and go and shrugged. It's so authentic to a 70s supper club that I was surprised there isn't a smoke machine to add the requisite haze 7' off the floor.
The service was excellent. Very attentive and multiple staff checking on us. So the atmosphere was great and staff amazing so why the 3 stars? The food.
We went here after it being recommended by a local resident. Had the fish fry. For the price I was expecting a larger portion. It was 4 pieces of cod, 1/2" thick and roughly 2"x3". In addition the breading is thick and hard. Like you'd find on a chicken patty. Now maybe their red meats are more generous, I can't speak to that, but I would not recommend this place for a Friday fish.
